Varanasi Woven Statement Wrap

An oversized woven textile — 32 by 96 inches — with metallic floral jacquard motifs and a worked border framing a plainer central field. These are machine woven on modern looms using the traditional Varanasi motif vocabulary and more affordable fibers, then finished by hand where it shows: cut and finished by hand, tassels tied and knotted by hand. That is what most weaving in Varanasi looks like now, and it is a continuation of the craft rather than an imitation of it.

At this size it is not really a scarf. Drape it saree-style, wear it over one shoulder, or use it flat — table runner, bed-end accent, chair throw. Each color is a single piece.

The variants differ in weight because filament and weave density differ between them; that is normal for this line and not a defect.

Taupe & Sand is an extremely fine, nearly transparent synthetic blend with a jute-like visual and hand. It was chosen deliberately for its texture, drape and transparency — not as a substitute for silk.
